Review of Heartburn Remedy “GREAT TASTE NO PAIN”
Description
With more than 1 out of 3 adults in the USA (70 million) taking OTC or prescription pills for digestive disorders and the pain associated with them, the USA have serious health problems and this problem is the same around the world, even in Ireland.
What most people are frustrated with is that even if they eat how most health professionals consider to be healthy, a large percentage of people STILL experience digestive problems. And so most people resort to drugs, surgery or eating bland foods. Or they just continue to suffer.
That’s why the Great Taste No Pain System was developed — to help slash some of the $42 billion dollars spent on those pills in the US alone.
This simple eating system is designed to dramatically reduce the acid pH measure in a person’s entire body — not just in the stomach. It does so by increasing the ratio of alkaline forming foods eaten and by showing you how to combine foods in a way that radically decreases the amount of acid digestive juices in the stomach and small intestines required to break down foods.
With me so far? Hope so, because this is important stuff.
One of the primary components of the Great Taste No Pain System is the science of food combining, which was first introduced into the US in 1911 by Dr. William Hay, a New York surgeon who used it to cure his Bright’s Disease, a kidney disease which was often fatal at that time. In fact, among the many thousands of lives it claimed was Teddy Roosevelt’s first wife, who died of Bright’s Disease at just 22 years of age.
A basic knowledge of Junior High chemistry is all it takes to see the logic behind this science: Mixing foods that require alkaline digestive enzymes with foods that require acid digestive enzymes slows and can even stop the digestive process. It can and does delay digestion by as much as 10 hours and more. This is incredibly bad for the body. The Great Taste No Pain system alleviates this problem, speeding food through your body, allowing it to absorb nutrients from foods at a much higher level.
In addition, one of the manuals in the Great Taste No Pain system, ‘Foods That Create Acid, Foods That Take It Away,’ is as clear as I’ve ever seen this data presented. Follow this simple guide and your body will use a minimum of energy in the digestion process, which leaves more energy for healing and other daily functions your body carries out.
This is a timely set of guides, because with our society’s addiction to the convenience of processed foods, in many respects our health challenges are far worse than they were in 1911.
Great Taste No Pain author, Sherry Brescia, was a former Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) sufferer herself. In fact, in 1991, she spent 7 days in the hospital with bacterial colitis.
As a health insurance researcher and Chief Underwriter, she was able to research the benefits of an alkaline- balanced body and over the next 15 years perfected the system she now calls Great Taste No Pain.
She meshed a number of philosophies proven to help alkalize the body to create this simple system that anyone can follow regardless of where they are or what food choices they have available to them.
What I Like:
Taste: Unlike most restrictive diets, Great Taste No Pain cannot actually be called a diet, because it allows you to eat even great volumes of luscious, delicious food as long as you combine it according to a few simple guidelines. It truly requires very little willpower. Perhaps the greatest news for people who love to eat is that the 176 page recipe book in the system is stuffed with breakfasts, lunches, dinners and snacks that are unbelievably tasty. No rabbit food. Gourmet all the way, yet the meals (if you like to cook) only take between 15 and 30 minutes of prep time and make tons of yummy leftovers. So you can throw away the belief that you can’t eat healthy on a super-busy schedule.
Speed: I love that you don’t have to read 300+ pages before learning what to do. In the first guide, ‘How To End Stomach Pain Forever, Even If Your MD says, “No Way,”‘ it provides a brief background on the science and then quickly moves onto the step-by-step ‘how to.’ I really love that.
Simplicity: The second Guide in the GTNP System is ‘What To Eat With What.’ This is a massive compilation. Every kind of food that you could possibly put in your mouth is listed, along with the corresponding foods that combine with it for easy comfortable digestion, and those foods that don’t. This guide is so complete and so easy to follow, if you screw this up, it’s back to pre-school for you.
More Simplicity: Traveling is the one thing that can ruin even the healthiest eaters. But in Great Taste No Pain, Sherry gives you a ‘Pocket Guide For Pain-Free Dining Out.’ This tool is phenomenal. You can store this little baby with your credit cards and, until you understand what combines with what, all you have to do is pull out your pocket guide and quickly note the rule, so you can eat and
enjoy the rest of your day, pain-free.
Would you believe that you could eat McDonald’s food and not suffer gassiness and reflux? Now you can!
Meat: While meat is not something people with digestive issues usually tolerate well on a daily basis (hence the daily pain), the problem isn’t so much the meat as it is what you eat with the meat.
That is why each of the Guides in the system, including the recipe book, lists every possible food you can combine with meats without suffering. Most people will suddenly be able to eat beef, chicken, fish, pork, turkey, venison and any other type of meat they want. As long as you combine it right… no pain at all! And broccoli, lettuce, cucumbers and other veggies that can create havoc suddenly will not. That I love.
Fruit: Ask anyone that suffers stomach problems about fruit and you’ll hear horror stories. So sadly, the most perfect food on the planet is shunned by a huge part of our world’s population. No longer. Because you will soon learn why fruit causes you trouble and how to easily change that. You CAN eat fruit again, even if it now makes you turn blue! It’s true!
While each Guide in the system is detailed and complete, they are “dumbed down” in the clearest language possible. So I don’t doubt Sherry’s claim that any 11 year old could teach it. This I really love.
Things To Watch For:
The one thing you want to be careful of is that once you start eating as prescribed in Great Taste No Pain, you could quickly begin to feel all powerful. You might start to think you are “cured” of your digestive problems since they went away so fast and since you have so much extra energy.
That would be a mistake.
Because technically there is no “cure” for most digestive problem, because technically they are not diseases at all. They are maladies brought on by eating the wrong foods and by eating them in the wrong combinations. So the principles in Great Taste No Pain is not a “cure,” since people with sensitive stomachs will always be sensitive. GTNP is merely a way to make all symptoms go away forever and give you a lot more energy.
For example, let’s say you’ve got it bad and have Diverticulitis or Crohn’s. Great Taste No Pain can help you get rid of your symptoms very quickly.
But a year later, if you start eating like you used to, guess what? Yep, the symptoms will come back. You see, the principles that Great Taste No Pain is based on are sound. They work for everyone. But if you think that because you’ve been symptom-free for a long time, you’ve been “cured,” think again. Go against these principles of easy digestion, and the problem can come back with a vengeance. Remember, good health comes from living a healthy lifestyle, not a”do it once and you’re fixed” approach.
Another thing you might want to be prepared for is that since Great Taste No Pain cleanses your digestive tract, initially you could get a little diarrhea. If you experience constipation on a fairly regular basis, you might get a little “looseness” at first, but it will end soon.
Also, due to the detoxing going on, you might get a runny nose or get some other cold-like symptoms at first. It’s nothing to worry about. If you do, while it might not be fun, it does mean it’s working. It means your body is becoming purer and the toxins are leaving. And that is a very good thing.
Conclusion:
When I began following the system, I personally was amazed at the amount of energy I had, even late into the evening. I had no discomfort, no bloating, I didn’t feel the need to eat again within an hour and no need for caffeine after meals.
Professionally and personally, my strong recommendation is that for anyone who wants more energy, sounder and longer sleep, migraine headaches to stop almost immediately, pain from gastritis and acid reflux to stop almost instantly, and the pain of digestive problems to stop or be reduced dramatically, get over to “Great Taste No Pain” now and get the whole system. You will be thrilled.
And frankly, it won’t take a full day for most people to feel a major difference in their bodies. Often it just takes one meal. After you have been following it for a week or more, feel free to let me know how you like it. I personally believe that anyone who adopts this simple, enjoyable food combining method will reap gigantic health benefits. So if that is what you are looking for, get over
to “Great Taste No Pain”
and get started today.
All my best,
Sam

I’ve tried this plan for the last 4 days and have not taken any of my acid reflux meds and have felt no acid reflux or heartburn. I feel wonderful, sleep better, with more energy and the best part, no acid reflux. This is an amazing theory of food combining. I’m going to order the complete plan now, I’m so excited, I haven’t felt this good in 4 yrs.

I have been reading on The Great Taste No Pain website and find it very interesting. I thought from the advertiseing that I would be able to get the 4 day trial booklet free first, then order the balance…., I didn’t find that to be true. I thought the amount, nearly $50 to be a lot of money to try something that may or may not work, dispite all of the feedback posted. So many of us have “little” money to work with to begin with. It’s a shame that those who really need help and are willing to seek out to find alternative help, gets tied up in possible scams. I don’t doubt that Sherry Brestin is correct in all the research that she has done, but does she not have a program for those less fortunate finacially?

Hi Dianne,
Thanks for commenting.
You are able to get the 4 day trial booklet free first, just put your name and e-mail address in the small form and it’s e-mailed to you, I just tested it again to be sure.
Yes, nearly $50 IS a lot of money to try something that may or may not work, but there is a 3 MONTH MONEY BACK SATISFACTION GUARANTEE
It says;
If, in 3 months from the time you place your order, you don’t absolutely love how terrific you feel and how wonderful your food has been, I will immediately refund your small investment, no questions asked.
So there is no risk. If they were being asked for refunds and didn’t give them, Paypal would close their account.
I can tell you that $49.97 to get rid of heartburn for good is well worth it, especially with all the bonuses
and if it doesn’t work for you, you can get it back

Dianne, I am in agreement with you $50.00 is a bit steep.

Hi Everyone. I’m a promoter of non-traditional medical philosophies because in my 28 years, I’ve been having stomach issues since I was 6, and I’ve received the most relief from my Chiropractor, naturopaths, and yoga instructor. Just this year, I’ve spent well over $50 on visits to the doc, tests, and meds. It’s frustrating to think I’m looking at a life of this. I’m curious as to why we’re willing to spend $50 on the chance a pill is going to work, but won’t spend $50 on the chance a diet is going to work. Your body can only use what you feed it, so of course what we eat impacts our health. I’m hesitant to try things because of the possibility of scams. It is difficult to educate yourself and depart from the media and culture that is all around you. You have to trust your instincts and I doubt mine all of the time. Also, if you are like me and trying to figure out if something is legitimate, you usually see the same posts on every blog site. I’ve seen the summary of the program as above on another website and it was exactly the same. However, just today, I got the 4-day booklet delivered to my e-mail. Free. With the 4-day plan, there are options every day. So, there are 4 days worth of meal and snack plans, every meal has at least 2 options, which really means you have more than 4 days to try it and see if it works. In my experience, that’s a pretty positive indication that the people who put this program together have the best of intentions in helping you get some relief. So, if you still can, get the free book. Then, PLEASE, PLEASE, for the sake of everyone else having issues, post your experience with that free plan. It’s important for us to share our experiences to help those that have a hard time believing it if they don’t see it on TV. And, if you like it and it starts helping you feel better, order the rest of the program. You will pay less in the long run because you’ll at least spend less time in the doc’s office. Buy it because it’s just polite to support the people who care about you enough to share their knowledge. You pay your doctor, think about where that has gotten you. Check back for my experiences in a few weeks.

After a bout with diverticulitis that sent me to the ER for a day, confusion over what I could eat to prevent another attack and possible surgery, I found the Great Taste No Pain site. I tried the free four day trial guide and then ordered the recipe book, which included 4 downloadable files. I think it is a bargain. I have been using the guide and recipe book for almost 3 months and it has been a benefit for me. I have no more bloating, gas, and frequent bowel movements. My stomach is calm. I have lost about 17 pounds, down two sizes in pants. I am making the guide a way of life and hope that I can keep it up. I am still learning; don’t always follow it perfectly, but try to do it most of the time. I say, give it a try. I do not want repeat attacks and surgery. It is well worth the $50.

I have had ulcerative colitis for 8 years, high blood pressure for 12 years, depression for 20 years. Now I have chronic fatigue and lack of focus. I’ve tried many things and I’ve spent thousands of dollars on alterative care, medical care, and homeopathic solutions, and I just don’t know what to do anymore. I’m not out of work, and in the middle of an ulcerative colitis flare. How does this Great Taste, No Pain option work with all my ailments. Can someone please advise? I now have very little money to spend, so I want to spend it wisely.
Thanks Alissa

Hi Alissa,
I can’t answer your question, as I’ve no experience of ulcerative colitis …
but I know from my own experience that I will try anything.
Here’s a suggestion, but the eBook and immediately set a reminder for 25 days in the future … then read the eBook, do what they suggest and if there is no improvement in 25 days, get your refund.

Alissa, have you heard of the Specific Carbohydrate Diet? Not to detract from Sherry’s GTNP system (which I am also interested in), but I know there are heaps of Colitis sufferers who belong to the SCD Support Groups, and get amazing results. Its not a 5 minute quick-fix (more of a lifestyle change), but if you are prepared to put what energy you have into healing yourself, you can almost certainly succeed on the SCD. Also if you have a history of tummy upset, get your B12 levels checked. If they’re anywhere less than in the high normal range, ask your Doc if you can have some shots to get you up to high-normal. You’ll be amazed what it does for depression. Best of luck and health to you.

I have ulcerative colitis for 15 years and I have IBS. I started the diet and it slow down some of my problems. I always had a problem with one day I am find and the next I am running to the bathroom every ten minutes. I going to keep trying it for another week before I order the package. I will always believe in taking my medications, but diet control does help. I let you know in a few weeks. Dawn

Hi,
Anyone bought the deluxe upgrade version?
Any thoughts?
March 27th, 2009 at 8:10 pm
I am curious about the dessert recipes in the cookbook. I have received the four-day trial, but there is no option for dessert. I was wondering if anyone has a – purchased this cookbook; b – made a recipe; c – what kinds of recipes are there? Also, does anyone have their opinions about peanut butter? Does it worsen constipation for you? I am an IBS sufferer with mostly constipation symptoms. I am intrigued by this food combining concept, but am also wanting to make sure that if I buy this, I will benefit from the recipes. Thank you.
March 27th, 2009 at 8:12 pm
by the way, I am inquiring about the Great Taste No Pain package.

Ali, I don’t know if you have tried the GTNP yet but I am the latest fan! The recipe book does have desserts too! I love the buttermilk pancakes for a sweet breakfast. The best I’ve ever made. I have been following the plan for 5 days now and have more energy than I’ve had all year. Plus no pain. I highly reccomend this program and love the recipes!

Works 100% for me
October 17th, 2009 at 2:07 pm
I just got out of hospital after 4 procedures, and three weeks of nightmare, I am back home to figure out how to recover.
I have tons of medication, Protonix for Proton Pump Inhibition, heavy duty pain killers.
I have chronic acid pain, a few instances of acid reflux attacks, chronic constipation. I have just had my gall blader removed and lots of procedures to mend the holes that surgery had put into my bile ducts. Mending the holes, draining the bile.
Did anyone research GTNP’s author, Sherry Brescia, credentials? Is she really a natural health researcher? Is she qualified to make the claims she does, as logical as they sound?
Well, that was my skepticism talking. I have a bigger problem. I have been a vegetarian for the past 5 years, it had not helped with my acid pain. I get my protein from soy products. GTNP seems to have been written for regular meat eating folks, correct?
Would digestion of soy protein generate the same
acidic enyzimes as the digestion of regular meat products? Could a balance be striked?
October 20th, 2009 at 5:53 am
Hi Mel,
Firstly, I do hope you are feeling a little better, having to eat nothing but liquids for 3 months and have severe heartburn pain, I can empatise with you a little, but you are having a far worse time than I did.
Secondly, I can’t give medical or legal advice, so I can’t help you, but I can point you in the right direction.
My own personal research on GTNP’s author, Sherry Brescia, has turned up that yes, she is really a natural health researcher.
While she does not seem to have any qualifications, her results and the results from everyone that has contact me after using the information has been 100% positive.
Yes, GTNP has been written for regular meat eating folks,
, but I don’t see any reason why it could not be adjusted.
Have you tested the “Pain Free In 1 Day” information, to see if it helps?
There is plenty of contact information on the web site, so I would recommend asking them the question about if digestion of soy protein generate the same acidic enyzimes as the digestion of regular meat products.
Sorry I could not be of more help and please do keep us informed.

I have a question about this system: my former roommate has been on this for a couple of weeks and feels great–she recommended it to me because I have undiagnosed digestive issues. I am afraid to drop $50 on a system I haven’t yet previewed, and the reason I am afraid is because I am gluten, dairy and soy free, and I don’t want to order it only to find out that it is not gluten/dairy/soy-free-friendly.
Can you speak at all to the actual food contents? I don’t have time to figure out substitutes on my own–if I am going to pay a lot of money for a system, I would rather have it all written out for me. Thanks!

Hi Sabrina,
Thanks for taking the time to comment.
My reply is almost the same as my reply to Mel above.
Have you tested the “Pain Free In 1 Day” information, to see if it helps?
If it does, then you can decide to pay for the full information, which has actually come down in price, it’s $39.97 now
With regard to being gluten, dairy and soy free, use the contact information on the web site, and ask them the question directly, I’m sure you will get the info you need.

Hi, Sam.
I’m curious to hear about anyone’s long term success with this plan. Or is it a case of it’s easy to start, but hard to maintain.
I noticed that you are also endorsing the Acid Free Flux as recently as April 2009 (Pain Free in 1 Day method was given rave reviews in August 2008). Does that mean that your experience on the plan has changed over time?
Thank you for your input.
November 8th, 2009 at 5:58 am
Hi Candee,
Thanks for dropping by.
I have been having partial long term success with this plan, as I have some complications.
I have a digestive medical issue that is being investigated at the moment that I need some extra help with, which is inside the stomach.
So the heartburn is gone, but I still have pain related to this medical issue.
If I didn’t have this medical issue, I would be pain free.
To keep my pain away, I also need to use Digest Assist and keep the the Acid Free Flux nearby after heavy meals.
It can be difficult to maintain the plan, but I found that if I focus on all the foods I can eat, not what I can’t eat, it’s far easier … and you can breakout from time to time if you really need to eat a certain food.

Hi Sam,
yesterday was the worst day of my entire life. diagnosed with CRONH’S MODERATE COLITIS AND DEEP ULCERS after 2 and 1/2 months of diarrhea. Can GTNP really help me? Because these diseases are most of the time devastating for the majority of us I don’t understand why we don’t hear of GTNP more often.
Thank you.
December 21st, 2009 at 8:53 am
Hi Nicole,
With the mixture of Chronh’s and deep ulcers, what you eat is a major issue, as you know only too well
The best advice I can give, is to read the free report and give your doctor the info, before you try it.
If your doctor says that the foods involved won’t aggravate the problem, only then would I give it a try.
I’d love to read about the outcome of this, as I have a friend with chronic Chronh’s disease, so do please come back and let us know.

Hi – I’m curious mainly about everyone’s weight loss – does it really work for weight loss too? I’m looking to drop over 100 pounds and this sounds great, but in the long run, has anyone lost a lot of weight on this food combining stuff?
March 4th, 2010 at 4:00 am
Hi Akiko,
While I have read that people do loose weight, I can’t say this for definite, so let’s see if anyone can contribute with an answer.
