Hi Rob,

Thanks for your comments.
My non professional view would guess that the high fat content of "raw" cows milk might form a layer on top of all food in the stomach, acting like a barrier.

With regard to raw sugar, I have changed from using sugar to using Xylitol, a natural sweetener, that you can get in health shops and online.
I found that it did help.

I believe there's got to be a conspiracy to cause chronic heartburn in the first place. Just trying to figure out which one of our engineered foods is doing the damage.

I have found that "raw" cow milk seems to help a little and also using raw sugar vs. white helps a little too. Maybe it's a collective effort among several foods that cause chronic heartburn.

Hi Rayner,

Sorry about the late approval of this comment, my blog had some hiccups, and your comment went into the spam folder. I was doing a routine check before deleting the contents of the folder and found your comment.

If anyone does have information about how they are dealing with inflammation of the esophagus, please post a comment.

Thanks.

I was suffering horribly for years from digestive issues. My doctor precribed daily Zocor. I still suffered, waking at 4 every morning in pain. I returned to the doctor and was prescribed another proton pump inhibitor to take at night, while continuing to take the morning one. I thought that this couldn't be right as I need acid to digest food. I started researching online and found GreatTasteNoPain. I bought the books - they would be cheap at twice the price, as by following this eating system I am COMPLETELY pain free and take NO proton pump inhibitors - which saves me a ton of money. I can't stress enough how easy it is to follow (BTW, I've also lost about 15lbs - effortlessly, and feel full of energy)

Hi
I was diagnosed with esophagitis (I think it said level 1 or stage 1) in January. I was also treated for h pylori. Somehow I thought that all my symptoms would go away after the antibiotic treatment but I'm still left with heartburn, sore throat and burning esophagus. I'm just learning that merely having heartburn does not cause everyone to have inflamation or erosion of the esophagus. After reading many, many posts here I'm beginning to feel very alone. I'm not reading many stories of people who had inflamation of the esophagus upon completion of the endoscopy. Please, if you had this diagnosis would you please write and let me know how you are doing now and what helped. I'm taking Nexium twice a day with no relief. I can't really say there are "trigger foods" for me since I have hearburn whether I eat or not.

Thank you in advance.

I have tried Great Tast No Pain since begining of Nov. 2010 and it has been awesome. I lost 16 pounds in about 2 weeks. It fell off me, now it is balanced out. I did not go into this as a diet at all. I went in to it as a Life style change like it suggests. I have Diverticulitis and a Hiatal hernia. My hole life (44 yrs. old) I have been suffering from acid reflux because of my hiatal hernia. When I turned 40 I had my first bout of Diverticulitis. WOW was that painful! So had a colonoscopy and endo. Doc's thought my esophagus was really red and worried more about that than the divert. So put me on acidphex. That worked for the acid. I was told by a colleague about GTNP and did nothing but store it in the back of my brain. Until, Oct. when I had another bout of Diverticulitis. Then I started reading all the reviews about GTNP (I'm a skeptic). The only thing I saw bad about this was, "I didn't lose the weight others did or to much money. Money thing please got mine for about $40, so worth it. those people don't have enough pain and to many visits to doc yet, to feel the pain. $40 is nothing when having all my visits to doc's and my ailments.

GTNP has been a blessing to me. I have had no issues since Nov. and had a couple of close calls because you do start to feel great and try to go off the path. You can treat yourself every once and while. This is not a diet so eat what you want but responsibly.

Things I have done as well just to try to help me. I eat very little red meat, I just treat myself every once and while. No more fried chicken and I loved both. I also don't drink soda's or caffeine. Just ginger ale every once and while. This has been my choice.

I hope this helps some people to make the leap and change their life style. It has worked so far for me.
